SELECTED RECENT ACTIVITIES

  • In 2018, Pax Christi-Baltimore participated in a coalition of individuals and groups presenting a wide range of events and activities commemorating 50 years of the Catonsville 9 (1968). As part of those activities, Pax Christi Baltimore presented an ecumenical prayer service at Salem Lutheran Church in Catonsville with the Charm City Labor Chorus offering the music and Rev. Joseph Muth (of St. Mathew Catholic Church in Baltimore) as the featured speaker.
  • In 2016, Pax Christi Baltimore hosted the National Assembly of Pax Christi USA in Baltimore. The weekend-long Assembly presented several workshops and a trip to a neighborhood in West Baltimore, where Assembly participants worked with residents of that neighborhood in cleaning up and sprucing up various parts of that block. A closing liturgy featured the “alternative liturgy” developed by Pax Christi Baltimore.
  • In 2004, Pax Christi/Baltimore presented a unique series of “follow up” discussion sessions at three locations in the Archdiocese in a single weekend, to provide an opportunity for parish peace and justice committee members to review ways to further energize their parishes for prayer and action on peace and justice issues. In April 2005, Pax Christi was part of the revised version of that concept, “Continuing Our Journey,” co-sponsored byCHD, the P. Francis Murphy Justice & Peace Initiative, and Beyond the Boundaries.
